How do we play?
- All 8 players open pack #1 at the same time.
- Pick a single card to keep for your deck, and pass the rest of the cards to the left, facedown.
- Look at the cards that were just passed to you, pick another single card, and pass the rest left again.
- Everyone opens pack #2 at the same time, as before.
How many cards do you need for a cube?
Simply put, a cube is a collection of Magic cards that have been put together for the purpose of drafting. A typical cube will contain a minimum of 360 cards in order to support an 8 player draft. Many cube designers also opt to only include up to one copy of each card, although this is by no means a rule.
How does Commander Cube work?
Players do a second draft of eight 15 to 21 card packs (alternating left-right traditionally). Each player designates a legendary to be their Commander. Each player constructs a Commander deck using their pool of 125 cards (5 legendaries + 120 drafted cards). Have fun playing!

Just shuffle the bad boy up. Divide it into piles, and then take bits of each pile and shuffle them together into new piles. Lather, rinse, repeat. If you leave the cube shuffled together between drafts, it doesn’t require as much shuffling as it does when the thing is in order.

Enabling three-color decks consistently typically means that you’ll have more total multicolored cards, and I would aim for 50 multicolored lands for a 360 – card environment of this nature.
How big should a cube be?
Cubes generally tend to come in three sizes: 360, 450, and 540 cards. Remember, an optimal draft environment consists of eight players each opening forty-five cards (three booster packs). That’s where 360 comes from (8 times 45). What about 450?
