In some MMO games, they are called “guilds”, in others “corporations”, in Dual Universe a group of players can band together in what is called an “organisation”. Organisations form the backbone of the economy, warfare, and politics in Dual Universe. The interplay between organisations has been occurring long before any player could log into the game.
This series covers the trials and celebrations of organisations since they could be created on the Dual Universe community web page. The first rumblings occurred during Pre-Alpha from early 2016 till late November 2018, the details of which can be found in “State of Affairs – Pre-Alpha” part 1, part 2, and part 3.
The following is a timeline that covers noteworthy occurrences in the top 20 organisations, members wise, in the time period from the end of November 2018 until the beginning of July 2019. Other organisations are also mentioned, usually due to their dealings with the largest organisations. Player names are not mentioned in these timelines, and links are provided for those that wish to read more. Organisations marked with an asterisk (*) have since changed their name or no longer exist.Continue reading “Dual Universe State of Affairs – Alpha 1”
It certainly has been a journey since the first Dual Universe organisations were officially created in early 2016 as previously mentioned in part 1 of this series. This article continues from where part 2 left off from February 2018 extending until the end of November 2018 which marked the beginning of the successful Alpha 1 launch of Dual Universe.
In that timeframe, while Pre-alpha testing raged inside Dual Universe, the large organisations continued to grow and a few new ones were created. Alliances were made and broken. New friends, acquaintances and enemies were made. The drama, usually rife within organisations, in some cases boiled over into more community-driven projects.
All told, the game wrapped within a game was afoot.
Once upon a time (all good stories start with that), I wandered into lands owned by The Federation Alpha (and by lands, I mean a Dual Universe Discord server). While taking in the sights, I was accosted by a giant fiery ‘G’. At first, I thought my time had come, but the fiery G turned to me and said (and I am paraphrasing) “Ask me questions. Ask me anything.” So I did.
It turns out ‘G’ was not a fiery harbinger of doom, but the very friendly President Ginger of The Federation Alpha. We had a good chat over some hot chocolate and tea and I even managed to entice Prime Minister Chrissi into the tea party.
